Spring weddings can be so fun to plan! I know that all weddings should be filled with creativity and be just to your liking, but there are endless ideas you can incorporate into your spring wedding. Cake ideas is the topic of this post and you may have never even thought of the awesome things you can do with wedding cake! We have come a long way from white towering frosted cakes (although I have to admit that these are still my favorite!)

Depending on your wedding colors, you can trim your cake in lighter hues of pink frosting, you can have sugar-molded flowers, butterflies, birds, or other complimentary spring-type decorations. You can also go with bolder colors which if done right can look very modern and sophisticated.
2. Or, you could add flowers to your wedding cake. Very simple, yet beautiful. You would want to match the rest of your flowers. You may even see if your cake maker and florist could work together in making the arrangement. If this is not possible, then your baker is probably skilled enough to make frosting versions of your wedding flowers.
3. Another wedding cake idea is to add some spring flavor to your cake! Fruits and berries that may be in season, like strawberries or blackberries, would be an excellent choice for filling. You could also do chocolate cake with cherry filling.
4. If you are searching for elegant, you may want to search out some shapes that you could add onto your spring cake. This would add just some subtle color as well, you could choose flowers, butterflies, birds…or just some simple ovals, circles, pearls, or diamonds.
5. Ribbon is another way way to add some color to your spring wedding cake! Ideas for these kind of creations can be found in books, but ribbon can stand in as trim, and as much or as little color as you want, and compliment other cake ideas listed above.
6. You don’t necessarily have to go round! You could pick a square cake! This applies to anytime of the year, but depending on how you decide to decorate it, square may be a choice that fits you.
